Q: Not able to update iphoto after restored to factory settings

Hello,

I had my macbook air restored to factory settings by Apple Genius today. However after I came home, I am not able to update iphoto for the macbook air. Each time tried, i would get the following message "You have updates available for other accounts…to update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it".

Anybody know why this is happening and more importantly how to fix it?

Thank you,

LV

First, see this Support page an check that it solves the problem > http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4236

If it doesn't work, it's probable that iPhoto is a hidden purchase, so you have to unhide it in order to update iPhoto > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4928

Thank you for your help on this. Unfortunately, I've followed the steps you've provided, however it did not help to resolve the issue. Strangely enough, the steps to unhide purchase don't seems to be reflecting the options available on my account. By that I mean the show hidden purchases was not visible.

In any case I've contacted Apple and they are going to send me a CA to that i can uninstall iLife and resintall it. Hopefully that will fix the issue.

    Cheers.
