If you removed Launchpad from the Dock and you want to recover it, just open Finder, select Applications in the sidebar, and drag the Launchpad icon to the Dock, so it will appear again in the Dock

I too did it by mistake and I know this solution too. Found it one day while I was fiddling with my MacBook Pro but tend to forget when I needed it. Thank for Reminding me.
