Do photos taken with an iPad have a different/better resolution than those taken with an iPhone?

iPad, iOS 6.1.3

No.  The iPhone has a better camera than the iPad.  Google will find you the camera specs for each, depending on the model.

iPad photos are just a megapixel or less. While iPhones, depending on the model, are up to 6 or 8 megapixels I think. So the phone is much, much better.

It kind of depends on the models of iPads and iPhones you are comparing.

Yes, currently the iPhone 5 has the best camera at 8 Megapixels. But the iPad 4's camera is a respectable 5 Megapixels. Which is pretty much the same as a camera on an iPhone 4 and 4S for instance.

If you take older iPad models then their cameras are of much less quality.
