Q: Can I use my Cinema display with Mac mini?

I'm using early series G5 (2x2,66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon, OS 10.7.5) with Cinema display and am considering now to get Mac mini. Do You know if I can use my 6 years old Cinema display 20" with a new Mac mini? Ar there any issues with power connection,or connection between display and Mac mini? My Cinema display is working very fine but I wonder about possible disadvanteges of using it with a new Mac mini. Thanks för comments. janring

Does your 20" Cinema Display have a DVI connection or an ADC connection? If the former, no problem: HDMI->DVI and Mini DisplayPort->DVI adapters are readily available and inexensive. If the latter, it's still possible, but I think you'll find it to be more expensive and troublesome than it's worth.

Very good monitors with much higher resolution than your old 20" Cinema Display are available for fairly modest cost.

Thank You for the answer. This Cinema Display has actually the DVI connection. I'll also check other monitors. janring

    You're welcome.

The Mini currently ships with an HDMI->DVI adapter in the box, so your old monitor should be ready to connect to a new Mini without having to purchase anything extra.
