    HI,

    Log in to where ?

With what sort of ID or Screen Name ?

An AIM valid Apple ID logging in to the AIM servers needs the password to be 16 characters or less.

Also iCloud Issued @me.com and @icloud.com will not work in iChat 5 or lower despite the Password fitting the above criteria.

This is because iChat 6 and Messages also log in to Apple so that you "Give Permission" as it were for AIM to "read" the password.

If you are using a Google Mail ID for a Google Talk Login then you have to have enable "Talk" on your Google Accounts settings (At Google).

You also have to add your Google ID as it is on the mail web Page (@gmail.com and @googlemail.com are different.)

Facebook IDs as Jabber IDs also need you to enable "Chat" on your Facebook Account.
