Hello & thanks for your response,
I understand that "iCal" is pre mountan lion and "Calendar" version 6 is what you and I are running with 10.8.3.
The post date on the Apple download is October 25, 2007 and is under Apple's iCal Calendar so I'm skeptical
on proceeding with this download. Am I off base on this?

An iCal subscription is capable of being read by multiple versions of iCal/Calendar. I tested it before I replied to your first post, and it has all appropriate U.S. holidays.
If you subscribe and don't like the results you can always delete the subscription.OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), iPad 3G, iPhone 4, 20GB iPod Color, iPod shuffle

The subscription you suggested worked flawlessly. Calendar on my iMac and ipad mini (via icloud) were updated for 2013 and 2014.
Thank you very much for your time and expertise.
