Right, because they've taken care of everyone that has had a problem to this point?

I do recall the posts you mention and was waiting for those guys to respond. I'll look this weekend, however I wouldn't be surprised if they've been deleted like many posts Apple doesn't like.

How convenient that you are "certain" that SJA2 displays having problems but not pointing to the post(s) which could prove your certainity.

@jeffreyfromwestwood: made the same observation so far, not all of the refreshed 2013 rMBPs were shipped with SJA2s alas some of them had problems. I am gonna wait until I see a definite post where somebody with a SJA2 complains about IR.

I doubt he has an agenda and I'm sure it's not convenient when he's trying to make his point to not be able to point to the posts. I recall the same posts and will look for them this weekend. I'm not 100% "certain" but like I said, I recall at least one post, as I remember the wind being taken out of my sails when it was made.

I remembered that too DomdiDom, and I actually went back a couple months in the posts to try to find them and I can't find them. So I don't know if I didn't go back far enough or if they have been deleted.

You're right about the fact that no one with SJA2 has reported any signs of IR. I made a couple of post stating that I had a new revised 2013 model which showed IR after 5 days. However, I never mentioned which version panel I had. At the time of posting, I was not aware that there was a different version. My LG had the SJA1 panel and NOT the SJA2.  I've been following this discussion and have read every post since before January. If you go back to page 480, you will find that Denisz21 also had a revised 2013 model with the SJA1. In one of his post, on that same page, it seemed like he had the SJA2. But if you read it carefully, he is just demonstrating his frustration that Apple has a second panel version.

    Thanks.....

    Thanks for this information

Cannot say for sure yet, but it looks that SJA2 is a revision of the faulty original LG display. (And yes, I do acknowledge that not all LGs exhibit IR, some don't, but a lot of them do, experienced it last year)

I myself had a LG display, and the IR showed clearly after 1 week of use - and on a blue background. I didn't even need to put a gray background there. Blue was my default, thats how I noticed it in the first place. Anyhow, I will be waiting for the coming revision of the haswell update, will take a couple of months more, but this SJA2 makes me believe that Apple is indeed aware (and mounting pressure on LG) of the IR (another lead for that assumptions are the IR test cases, even though they seem to be deliberately biased in their favor) and doing something. That class action suit and the press coverage will speed things up.

Of course I will be monitoring for posts of people who have a SJA2 display and stating they got IR.. so let's wait and see another couple of weeks what comes.

My 2008 MBP is at its limits. Nice machine, but it is slow Need a new one, and I loved the display of that retina macbook pro. Btw, the graphics card of the current rMBP in my opinion lacks a bit "steam" for the screen size. So an update on that front will also be very welcome.

    I have the SJA2

Delivereded to  March 18  I have started to se IR today.  It happens when I mirror the rMBP on apple TV and switch back to rMBR.  Not very happy   The screen is blue when switching back and the image from NCL cruise line website is still visible on the  blank blue screen.

Also not happy with the slow scrolling effect.

Will be returning tommorrow and hope for a fix this summer

    @wachonee

Make sure you have the newest OSX update (10.8.3).  It really improved my scrolling response.

Wachonee, can you post the full result from when you run this command in terminal?

    ioreg -lw0 | grep \"EDID\" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

Do you get IR when you run the test at http://www.mitchmalone.name/retina-test/ ?

Anybody knows what the Samsung panel part number is? I am planning to service my amcbook and would hate to realize afterward that I ended up with an LG panel again.

Out of curiosity, people who are having screen issue.. was it gradual or did you turn your comp on one day and it was a major problem? Ive had my retina (LG) since about mid January, no major issues so far. I changed my desktop to dark gray and noticed that the dock and safaris address bar were still visible However, they vanished within a few minuets. So I opened itunes and left it open for a few mins (prob around 5) and it left some ghosting, wasnt super noticable. Same as before though, vanished within a few minuets. My brother has had a a retina (LG) for a few months longer and just recently started having major issues.. I mean to the point where he had an app open for a few mins and its incredibly noticeable. Anyways, dont mean to make this longer than it needs to be. just curious if anyone else has similar issues (such a minor ghosting) I mean if it remains like this, then I honestly wont have a problem... lets just hope it does.

edit - I can really only notice it when my desktop is gray.
