Thanks for replies - I am pleased it is not just me.
I am not too sure about these:
1 - At one time I got the impression that opening my mailing preferences and closing them resolved things for a while.
2 - I noticed one thread I had subscribed to had lost (or never had) my subscription set in Actions (top right of page) so I reset it.

I use Safari 5.1.8 now (having got caught by the sneaky inclusion with the last security update for Snow Leopard). Prior to that it was 5.1.7. Incidentally, there have been two security updates of late, both related to Java. Have you run software update recently?

Thanks - where do you get your information?
That would be telling! But this may be the reply I got:
We have been debugging this over the past few days and are seeing some odd behavior. Continuing to look at the email server to see if there are any connection issues.
So, like I said, it's a Jive issue and they are working on it!
(Neville, I alerted the powers that be to this thread.)
