Q: Your disk could not be partitioned. Win7 Bootcamp

I'm attempting to load Win7 on MBPr with Bootcamp 5.0 and am getting the error "Your disk could not be partitioned. An error occurred while partitioning disk." No other information leads me to understand the problem. Does anyone know anything about this error and how to fix? Screen Shot 2013-03-20 at 9.50.26 PM.png

I had to take it to a repair shop. From what was explained, the issue is that the partition from bootcamp doesn't  format the partition in NTFS, which Win7 requires. They downloaded a driver to partition that drive in NTFS and installed Win7 in less than an hour. I don't know any more details, unfortunately. Good luck.

All of that is covered in the Boot Camp directions, I take t you did not read them?. No driver should have been downoaded, the Windows installer does it for you.I hope you didn't have to pay too much for them doing it for you.

Prior to obtaining professional help I had used the instructions and downloaded the appropriate drivers but could not get installation to work. No other help in the instructions. As far as I can tell, paulmac12 has posted the first online solution.

Step3 (PAGE 7) of the Boot Camp Instructions, did you miss it when you read them?

How much did the 'professional' take off you to do that?

The program wouldn't get that far. After setting the size and clicking partition the error would occur. A partition could not be made thus I did not get the opportunity to apply advanced drive options.

Then what does this have to do with the issue?

It is the standard method of setting up Boot Camp to use the Windows installer.

Yes- sorry that that post was not specific and may add to the confusion. I could not get bootcamp to create a partition using the recommended drivers and bootcamp manual. Because I couldn't find any help from the discussion boards, I took it to the repair shop. The approximate explanation given by them is what I had listed above. They did not give specifics about what they had to do to create a partition, but did say an additional driver was necessary.

No drivers are required, you got taken, but it's working now (I hope) so it's done.

Hi there. I am getting the same error when Bootcamp tries to partition. My Mac has a single partition as Mac Extended Journaled, I am partitioning Windows as 30GB leaving 100GB free on my MacOSX. I seem to be folowing all of the steps and I am using a Legal Windows 7 install Disc with 64-Bit software. My Mac is i5 64-Bit. I am at a loss. Can anyone help?
