Apr 9, 2013 10:51 AM in response to apple.eaterby Steve Wyro,Exact same scenario as apple.eater - only happening on my macbook pro, all of a sudden. I am not using iCloud but did accidentally turn it on a couple months ago, however this just started within the last week. Also did an OS upgrade to 10.8.3.
Specifically, Events seem to still be associated with calendars and sync fine to ipad and iphone but on macbook when editing events cannot choose or change calendar; options are greyed out and only top level calendars show in gray (i.e. no calendars in folders).
Is this some sort of .plist issue?

Apr 29, 2013 1:14 AM in response to apple.eaterby Amrish M,Hi All,
I had a number of calenders in a group and was having the same problem.
When I took the calenders out of the group, it was fine.
Not ideal, but a temporary fix.
Hope it helps.

Apr 29, 2013 11:46 PM in response to apple.eaterby zanyface,OMG, I can't do anything in ical. Is Apple doing away with desk/lap tops??? I can't create a new calendar, I can't create events... EVERY pull down menu is grayed out!! The only way to make events is by double clicking. I thought it was from a gmail account calendar so I deleted it from the list (I nevery use google calendar).
Who knows what is going on???

Apr 29, 2013 11:57 PM in response to Amrish Mby zanyface,Can you be more specific? I want to try this but need to be pointed in the right direction. When I click on the little "calendars" word in the upper left corner of ical window the drop down says:
icloud ~ (a tilde in a cirlce appears but I seem to be online)
here is a list of
about 6 calendars
of different colors
each one is checked
subscriptions
us holidays
another calendar subscription
Any assistance appreciated!

May 17, 2013 11:13 PM in response to zanyfaceby zanyface,So I solved my own problem and will share what I learned:
iCal > preferences > Accounts > Google CalDAV account > Unclick "Enable this account"
I don't use google for my calendar and I am still not sure why or how it was created as a calendar listed in my iCal accounts. I didn't deleted in case I need it someday. All my menu options returned to regular functioning features.

May 21, 2013 8:01 AM in response to apple.eaterby cjmillar82,I am still having this issue as well. I can edit on my iPhone, but not on my Mac. I can't work in calendar groups on my Mac if I have iCloud enabled, so this is disabled (for now). Why won't this work?! Incredibly frustrating that I can't use calendar groups on iCloud and have it work properly.

Aug 3, 2013 11:28 PM in response to apple.eaterby Misho Mike,I had this problem too. I moved the calendars out of their groups into 'home' which fixed the problem, then moved them back to their original groups. Worked fine after this fix.

Aug 4, 2013 12:13 AM in response to apple.eaterby Misho Mike,I just discovered the fix I posted 45 minutes ago is no longer working. Only works if you take the calendars out of their groups.
