Some fonts are fine, so it is not a formatting issue. Nothing to do with Tracking, Ligature, Baseline or Capitalization. It is s system fault. Pages docs done on same computer prior to reinstall and upgrade now don't display some fonts properly.
I note that when I change the font to, say Arial, it displays correctly. Then when I change the Arial font to italic it goes haywire again.
Would you like us to guess what the upgrade was and to what?
You seem to think it has something to do with your problem.
Delete font cahe. You can use the free Onyx application
Yeah sorry, wasn't thinking. The latest Mountain Lion update 10.8.3.
Some common fonts such as Arial display okay in normal but bunch up and go nuts in italic or bold.
Fruhulda, I'll do that next. Thanks.
Followed your advice, cleared the font cached, rebooted and voila! all good again. Thanks, great advice.
