If other devices will connect to the AirPort Extreme, you do not have an AirPort Extreme issue, you have an iPhone issue.

    Use this Apple Troubleshooting Guide

I have tried the steps outlined in the referred article  for my iphone.

One of the suggestions in the Troubleshooting Guide, is to try changing the name of the wireless network that the wireless router (AirPort Extreme) is using. Did you do this?

The wireless network name should be no more than 20 characters. fewer is better

Use only normal letters and/or numbers in the name. No special characters like an apostrophe, dollar sign etc.

No blank spaces in the name

Same rules for the wireless network password
