Thanks for your quick reply. I was not clear enough in my description of the problem. The network works for an ipad & my macbook pro, but 2 iphones, an older ipad and an asus laptop are unable to join. I have tried the steps outlined in the referred article for my iphone. Specifically, after I turn it off & then back on, I go to settings and the network is listed. It asks for the password, but after I supply that info, it states: unable to join network. (The pw I supply is correct, btw.)
Any other ideas?

I have tried the steps outlined in the referred article for my iphone.
One of the suggestions in the Troubleshooting Guide, is to try changing the name of the wireless network that the wireless router (AirPort Extreme) is using. Did you do this?
The wireless network name should be no more than 20 characters. fewer is better
Use only normal letters and/or numbers in the name. No special characters like an apostrophe, dollar sign etc.
No blank spaces in the name
Same rules for the wireless network password
