If u can use EW Play 3.0.25... download it off their website... My update would "fail install" and the only way i got it to work was to create a new admin account on my computer and the login in and install via that... makes no sense to me as to y this worked but not my normal log-in but it did... after weeks of moving .plist files, uninstall then reinstall and sending log files of error to customer support etc etc... create a different account log-in on the computer and it works... crazy really but hope this helps anyone struggling with an issue that just shouldn't happen

Hey Tom, I finally got this happening with Kontakt 3 just yesterday. The .nkc files from the original EWQLSO version were in a separate folder and so more than 90% of the instuments I loaded weren't finding the samples. After I dragged them into the EWQLSO Gold XP folder it worked!
Wow, you are right. Not the easiest solution. The sounds are good though! Thanks to everybody in the discussion for their help. (and Jonathan from NI)

Hi, I just installed Logic Studio 9 on my new imac, as well as, East West Symphonic Orchestra Play Edition. It took awhile to properly install the play edition, but once fully installed, boot up Logic in 32-bit mode. I like to create an empty project, and choose software instrument track. From there, go to the very left channel and click and hold on the blue-highlighted instrument just under the i/o strip. Go to AU instruments, and you will find East West, then Play and it will upload your play edition. Hope this helps.
