Q: Problem with ipad connection kit

I am trying to upload photos from my camera to my ipad using the connection kit. When I plug it in using either the SD card or the USB it won't recognise the device. Anyone have this problem that can help? I have restarted and reset my ipad.

What camera are you using?

Is the SD card formatted correctly and have the DCIM directory and file naming convention?

I am using a Nikon D5100. I have done nothing different to the SD card or camera since I used it a few months ago and it worked fine then.
