have you tried other chargers/cables and different outlets to be sure it is not either of those? If it will not charge on other outlets or chargers, then it may be a failed battery or circuit and needs to be tested by an tech at an Apple store genius bar.

Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. If there is Warranty or AppleCare, make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, try cleaning again with small amount of Isopropyl Alcohol. If all it needs is battery, battery replacement program with Apple is $80. Replacement iPhone with Apple is $199 for perfect iPhone 4S exactly like yours. Otherwise replacement parts to consider are battery and charging port assembly with flex cable.

Hi all. I have the same problem. If the Usb and wallcharger are functioning correctly, and the battery has crashed, wouldn´t the usb give some power, or does the intire phone completely die - no screen, power indicator??
How does a crashed battery affect the phone? YS jesper´s-apple
