You need to download it from the "Apps Store" which is an application in your application folder.  Once you open this application, type in the words "Mountain lion" in the top right.  You will see a price appear under the "Mountain Lion" application download.  Simply click the price, and it will change to "buy".  Click Buy

To install Mountain Lion you have to have purchased ML previously to do a redownload using the same AppleID.  If that is the case, open the App Store and then click Purchases and see if it appears and redownload.  If it does not appear but you did purchase, do an Option-click on Purchases.

If you did not purchase ML previously, then you must go to the App Store and purchase Mountain Lion download.

The earliest Retinas came with Lion...what is installed on the refurbished units is the original version of Mac OS X.  So if you bought a model that came with Lion, that is what they put back on the Retina.

If you have never bought Mountain Lion, then you must purchase it from the App Store for $20 (US).  Download and install.  After you download, do not immediately install, instead go to your Applications folder and copy the MacOSX Installer to another location such as your Documents folder.

The final step in the installation is the installer deletes itself.  If you make a copy before installing then you can install again and not have to download again.  Saves a great deal of time.

Sorry, Thomas, but I don't remember the details...try doing a search in the area with the BLUE search button for the discussions rather than the Apple search bos on the top button bar.  There were some discussiona about those different displays but I just don't remember the details right now.

Alot of LGs have the ghosting issues NOT all. Just use it and if it appears take it to Apple. You should have a year warranty, am I correct?
