i can confirm the following:
yesterday after noon after reading here i've done the following:
1. disabled FaceTime
2. In Icloud - Documents and Data - disabled Mobile 3G Data
3. On AppStoe - disabled Mobile Data Usage.
4. On general - Mobile - make sure that all toggle for usage down the bottum are off ( Iphone5 Mobile 3G data is still on)
Since then until now i can see that battery usage is back tto noraml....
anyone can check it also with his Iphone5 6.1.3?

Update to my post on the previous page. The 2 simple settings changes I posted on the previous page seem to have solve my battery issue. After fully charging my iPhone 5 it is still at 100% after 10.5 hours of standby. After 6.1.3 I was losing 12 to 15% of charge overnight in standby. I'll see how the battery holds up through the day and report back if it noticably drains quicker than it used too.

LOL I get the hint. Ha however not to rain on your parade, but that info is not from Apple. Those blogs view these apple threads to get their information. They see a lot of complaints on these threads so they report it. They are speculating that iOS 6.1.4 is in the works. (it very well may be) but Apple has not confirmed any battery bug or that they are working on iOS 6.1.4 to address it. If you read closely you will see that in both articles. THEY suspect an update is coming. I hope you are correct and there is a 6.1.4 and it does fix any issues folks are having with battery life. But I will venture to say if and when the next update appears, we will see more threads that "iOS 6.1.x causes battery problems for users as reported on Apples support forums" . Just like ever other update ever released by Apple.
Interesting though that the first link you provided states that iPhone 4s users get better battery with 6.1.3. hmmm. interesting indeed.
Remember the name and always know I'm telling the TRUTH! For a couple of user names I won't mention.
Ios 6.1.4 is coming. Sooner than later. Apple is doing their job. Thank god!

You have to 'Agree' to the terms / license agreement before you install the new OS. Read it and you'll see you agreed to their terms which includes limited liability on their part as well as no warranty or guarantee....
Your 'in store' update idea is not going to help either. First it's not practical and second the employee would still have to have you read and agree to the terms before they 'hit' the install button. Silly idea as they woud be doing nothing different than you would do.
UPDATE: 17 minutes on 2 phone calls (4G), 3 texts and 2 emails.... Still at 100% looks like it's working for me...

You're aware that fine print cannot waive all legal obligations, right? And even if the waiver is legal, taking the impractical route involving Apple Store employees physically ought to have the effect of letting an issue sink in - if there is one of course.

Yes it can, the fine print can waive whatever they want it too. It clearly states that by agreeing you acknowledge and accept ALL the terms and conditions. Also do you honestly think the 100 million plus iPhone customers would actually take the time and hassle to go to an Apple store for an IOS update? As I said it's not practical, by any stretch of reality...
Sorry to all for the off topic posts. On topic; my phone seems to be back to normal. 47 minutes of calls and about 45 minutes of WiFi / mail usage and battery is at 93% (after 10.5 hrs standby).

Just realized that not only is it impractical, it's impossible to make customers go to an Apple store for an IOS update! There are 390 Apple stores, assuming 100 million phones to update that's 256,000+ customers per store. At 10 minutes per update it would take over 42,000 hours per store to complete the updates. Even if they did 10 updates at a time continiously for 12 hrs per store per day, it would take over 1 year to finish the updates...... There would be new iPhone models released before they even finshed the update process, LMAO

Glad your phone is back now. So you would concur that there was a setting causing your issue not iOS 6.1.3 itself? I suspect that if you turned that iCloud option back on it may continue to be fine. I wouldnt if you arent using it but somtimes it just gets hung (as does email) and a reset will clear it up However documents and data and safari sync is known to run a lot causing drain for some folks. Has been that way since introduced in iOS 5.0. Thanks for updating us on your status.

I think it was a combination of things but no way to pinpoint the cause(s). Something was obviously drawing down battery power that was in no way apparent from the UI. I am certain that Facetime and iCloud Docs was activated (turned on) by the 6.1.3 update on my iPhone 5. Beyond turning both off and reseting twice I did not change anything else. Sounds like different people are having different combinations of things that work for them so it's a hard to isolate a specific cause. All I can say for certain is that my simple settings changes seem to have fixed my issue.
Note: I just relaized when I went outside that my auto brightness issue seems to be back to 'normal' also, it had been going to max bright very quickly (outdoors) after 6.1.3 regardless of the slider setting.

Yeah as stated throughout these forums, typically the update process itself creates issues no matter what version of iOS you are going to or from. Sometimes a particular version has problems and will create a battery issue but those are rare from what I have seen. I suspect your issue was with iCloud as Facetime is not used unless you initiate it. Anyway you are correct, its different for different users but what seems to be common is resetting settings or restoring iOS helps most of the time.Of course there are some who have apps causing the issue and when putting them back on after a restore the problem returns.

It wasn't te turning off settings that fixed it, it was the resetting a few times that fixed it.
I fixed it too like that. Reset a couple of times and restored the phone as a new phone. FIXED. Then guess what? It just comes back with the same issue.
I reset again a few times. Fixed again. Then after a few days of charging and using, same problem.
Yesterday I was at 20% after 3:36min usage and a few hours standby. I'm sick of resetting and restoring for the issue to just come back again.
And as the guy before me said; why should we turn OFF services that came with the phone? If they don't work, why put them in? Why do I have to be Apple's guinea pig?

As I said, issue is your phone is reporting the WRONG %. When it says it is "Fully Charged" it isn't. So it SHUTS DOWN after no more than about 4 hours usage. Real usage. With your services turned ON. As it should be.
And no. It doesn't stay at 1% for 2 hours. It shuts down. Sometimes it shuts down at 8%. Once it turned off at 15%. I had to plug it in, and then it turned on and I unplugged it. Again it thinks it is drained and it turned off at 10%. So I plugged it in and then it turned on. And it kept shutting off like that ad I kept plugging it in and forcing it to boot up until it was at 1% and I forced the phone to drain completely. Then I charged. And reset and did what you did. FIXED. Now in back at the same problem.
The ONLY fix is for them to fix it in an update BEFORE ios 7. Otherwise they'll screw 3Gs owners. Just like the time they screwed 3G owners with ios 4 and made their devices unusable.

I had the same problem with 6.1.3 on a 4s but solved it:
I simply replaced the "old" IOS 6.1.3 which i've installed wireless with a new one via iTunes BUT:
I've used a "fresh" mac who does not "know" this iphone - so iTunes has never been conneted to my phone before. then i set up a complete new iphone and did NO install with any backup - all new: WORKS!!
100% at 11 pm -> 40% at 7 am (no use between)
94% at 11pm -> 88% at 7am
