HT1338 MacBook Pro does startup chime repeatedly with no video. Please help!!

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro 17" 2.53 i5. The computer was giving to me by a friend. When hit the power bottom, computer does chime sound repeatedly but no video. I did all recommendation found only and nothing. The computer charge the battery, cd drive spins, fan runs. It looks like everything is perfect.

Please help resolve issue.
