I suppose, as you know that millions of users do not have any problems, you are related in some way with Apple.
This is my second Iphone 5, the first one has been returned immediality after purchase, my son has the same Iphone 5 with exactly the same problems.
I will try the basic troubleshooting again, done it before without succes.
Yes, there are al lot of people having the same issues as you. A cetain percentage of iPhone 5's suck immensely at WiFi. See https://discussions.apple.com/message/19662780#19662780
