I have a new Ipod touch gen 5. It shows up under my computer but not under devices in the side bar like it should with Itunes 11. I'm running the latest firmware for my new Itouch and the latest Itunes. I hope I don't have to uninstall my itunes as I have ALOT of music on it. I dont wanna lose it all. I'm running windows 8 and followed the tutorial to a "T" to try to fix the problem but nothing worked. I did everything except the last step. Even checking my Computer for Updates (Itunes will not run if updates to my PC are needed). Help Please!

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.3

It said to search for a devmgt file I did and got zero results. Is this a mobile device driver that I am missing?

Where can I download the file if it is one. Under computer is it listed

Under portable devices and is called iPod. It takes the form of a hdd icon.

I fully un-installed itunes then reinstalled it but I did not remove the other componets (Bonjour, Quicktime, etc...)

Still shows up under my computer but not in itunes. Should I do a un-install of other software in a certain order?

None of the tutorials or sync tests helped. Here is what I get from the Sync Test:

    Everything good up to Ports.

    Under ports it has this:

Green-No USB ports found (I have it connected directly to the computer via the new cable)

    Green-No FireWire Ports found

    Red-No Ipod,Ipad, or Iphone found

I clicked help and it led me back here.

Try disabling your firewall. If successful then enable iTunes in the firewall. The sync test said:

Current user is not an administrator.

Next try running as administrator since the report said:

Current user is not an administrator.

I disabled my firewall. I'm using a Norton 360 Firewall so that is probably what coused it. I set it to run as admin and it popped up and allowed Itunes to recoginize the device. I was also able to set it up via the new Lightning-to-USB cable. I will work with my Firewall settings to see if that does any more good.Thank you very much!
