I currently own a MacBook Air (Summer 2012) and an iPhone 5. I use them all the time. I used to not get the point of an iPad, as it is very expensive and I didn't see the usefullness of the thing. However, I recently won a contest and won $500. Now that I have money, I was thinking of things I could buy. I looked up technology that I could buy for $500 or less, and I saw that recently, Walmart cut its prices down on the iPad mini from $329 to $299 (I believe).

So, should I buy an iPad mini? If I were to buy one, what uses could I use it for? I would mainly use it for web browsing, and I would like to see how I could use it for medical college classes / school. However, I have a MacBook Air, so is there anything an iPad / iPad mini can do better / easier than a MBA? Because I don't want to spend $300 if I don't need / use the iPad. I've seen people at school use them, so should I buy one? I'm not really concerned about the price tag, more-so the usefullness / uses / ease of the iPad mini.

Also: Is an iPad mini easy to carry around? Is it a good size? What is it useful for?

Ps: I looked up other tablets and such that I could buy, but I'd rather stick to Apple; it would make things easier to like transfer from one Apple product to another, and I really like the feel and layout of Apple products.
