For some reason, today, the Remote app on my iPhone is stopped working. So after trying some poking around, I started to get a bit more serious. The first thing was to try unpairing the iPhone from the computer and then re-pair them. I thought that this would be a no-brainer. I certainly don't remember difficulties in the past. But then again, I only had to do it one time. However, after unapiring the two, the trouble began, and in short I could not figure out where on the computer to punch in the passcode visible on the iPhone. Despite seeminlgy clear and insanely easy directions on the iPhone. Other steps:

  • Home sharing is on on both the computer and iPhone
  • they are set to the same account
  • the iPhone app keeps telling me to turn on Home Sharing "on your ocomputer…". I've verified this and cycled it 3 times or more on the computer
  • I've rebooted iTunes on my computer at least 3 times
  • I've verifed my WIFI network
  • I've deleted and re-installed the Remote app on my iPhone at least 2 times

In other words, I've done the easy stuff. Again, the message that has me stumped comes up when, on the iPhone, I touch add an iTunes library from the screen after a fresh install of the app on the iPhone (home sharing is already on). The next screen is the black Passcode screen. In the top bar it says "Add Library". In the middle of the screen is the 4 digit passcode, with the message giving instructions on how to add an iTunes library. Basically it tells me to simply select my iPhone from the devices list. And that's supposed to be it? When I select the iPhone from the devices list (of course the iPhone has to be connected via cable to the computer), there is nothing that seems to indicate where to punch in the Passcode visible on the iPhone to re-pair the iPhone with the computer.

Thanks in advance.
