Q: Delete one of two apple accounts

Hi need some help

before I switched from Windows to Apple I have had an IPod with an apple ID.

After changing completely to apple I started with a new @me.com - ID and now I still have two apple accounts. This is nerving.

Always I have to switch betwenn the two accounts to update some apps oder other things.

Therefore I would like to delete one of the accounts but do not find any way to it.

Can somebody help? (just to know: it's a German account)

Thanks ronwa

    1. The general rule is that Apple ID's are permanent.
    2. Thus to my knowledge there is no setting anywere that lets one delete one's apple ID.
    3. But I think exceptions are made, for example, in case of a death, or a relationship that goes sour where both partners have shared an ID.
    4. You could just not use one account, for example, keep the iPod with the original ID, and change the settings on the remaining apple hardware to use that same apple ID.
      1. But then you'd lose the purchases you made with the second ID.
      2. Another rule is I don't think you can merge Apple ID's.
    5. If I were you I'd contact the German iTunes Support which is on this page Apple - Support - iTunes and see if they can help you.
    6. And I think you meant "unnerving".

Thanks arthur, I will follow your tipps.

By the way, I did not mean 'unnerving' I meant 'annoying' actually. But missed the word.

You are welcome, and your English is way better than my German.

You can not delete an Apple ID, and you can not merge 2 ID's into one. Pick one and abandon the other.
