Apr 8, 2013 10:46 AM in response to JaneGFby Jim361036,Hey Jane,
Yes, I was just there to check my registered email address and it is an old one. It doesn't seem to allow me to change it.
Would anybody weigh in on this and tell me how to proceed with changing it?
I live in Southern Florida, on Singer Island.
I would be happy to cover shipping as I indicated. Do you have a Paypal Account?
Thanks Jane,
Jim

Apr 8, 2013 11:11 AM in response to Eustace Mendisby Jim361036,I have been there, but it wont let me change it from there. I had to go to http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/ to make changes to it.
I did so and even corrected my snail mail address. But it hasn't updated yet.

Apr 25, 2013 1:10 PM in response to Jim361036by JaneGF,Well, my problem is resolved. Delighted to say that my G4 iBook has found a good home - Jim is the happy recipient and is equally delighted to be the new owner. I appreciate all the helpful suggestions from the Apple support community and thanks to Jim for resolving my problem :-)

rehabs old iBooks (and other Macs) and distributes them to schools. All his work is volunteer work.
You will find his e-mail address in his profile (linked above).
Also, if anybody would want to donate an iBook G4 to me, I lost two of them when we had a house fire in 2010.
These were the two I lost:
Complete iBook G4/1.2 12-Inch (Late 2004 - Op) Specs
Complete iBook G4/1.33 12-Inch (Mid-2005 - Op) Specs
I do still have the original system discs.
I'm not begging, believe me. I have moved on to a MacBook Pro. But I do use iBooks to help answer questions here about them.
And if you have one that isn't working, get in touch with spudnuty.

Oct 18, 2013 9:42 PM in response to Jim361036by strider15,You can still use it for the web although video is not the greatest. There is a website that hosts many of the powerpc apps like firefox, google chrome etc for powerpc macs. It's really a shame that apple no longer supports the powerpc. Those computers were beautiful and still have so much life left. I kinda have my eye on a powerbook g4, but I know that the internet video is not that great even w/ the older apps installed, but still it's so tempting to get especially because I owned one for three years in college, and I get kinda sentimental and nostalgic just looking at pictures of it since it was such a beautiful device and the powerbook g4 keyboard was superior in feel to the current macbook pro. The keyboard had that smooth, satin, velvety feel to it. But, form follows function, and the current macbook pro is beautiful, too, but man, I sure miss the powerbook g4. Grrrrrr, why can't they just support the powerpc! Such a shame.

Nov 3, 2013 2:41 AM in response to strider15by K Shaffer,For browsing, the main issue would be lack of 'flash player support' as new web page technologies have moved on; but there are a few answers available in specialized versions of web browser software that are free or will run unlimited times in a demo mode. iCab is available and will work in an iBook G4 (Tiger, Leopard, and even an OS 9.x version still exists) and I use TenFourFox v 17, also SeaMonkey, and since updating my iBook G4 1.33 12" mid-2005 to Mac OS X 10.5.8, there are a few more options that still limp along OK in that PPC...
And was given a MacBook 12" white 1.83GHz core duo that had issues and I repaired some of them, now all my Macs are running 10.5.8.
Most still-available browsers are secure enough for web browsing, online shopping and even youtube video. TenFourFox allows one to turn off or on the plugins, and have flash work or not, depending on ones sense of fear or security. And what doesn't work in one browser in my PPC G4s will often work in another. I have six browsers available in the Mini, in the Dock. Other application aliases are in a folder in the dock.
In fact my PPC Macs (1.5GHz Mini PPC G4, 1.33GHz iBookG4, and a few now resting iMac G4s) are still viable online; and I never had trouble giving away any PowerPC Macintosh, even in the smallest towns around here. I've donated over 200 to people and charity thrift stores, but am not looking for any more...
