Q: I have my daughters old iBook g4, 800 mhz.

When she gave it to me in Feb. 2013, it was up to 10.3.9 She lost her install discs, and over the years it never properly got "refreshed" via archive and install or even a clean install.

She had had an airport card installed years ago, so I entered my Airport Extreme WPA2 password and it connected fine. (it actually seemed to have stronger signal strength in my garage that my mid 2009 13"macbook pro)

I ended up buying a retail version of Panther online, and it now WILL NOT accept my password that it accepted before the clean reinstall!!

I see that the iBook shows a different security(WEP?)  than the Macbook pro's WPA2. The only choices it gives me are :

WEP,   WEP 40/128-bit hex,  WEP40/128-bit hex ASCII,  and LEAP

I even resett my Airport and redid my passwords just in case I had written the password down wrong.( I hadn't, but thought I'd try)

Yet every time I try to join my netwoork, it says something like ( Sorry, the password you've entered is wrong)!!

Any ideas on how to fix, or why this happens?
