I have a Macbook with a damaged built in display.  The computer itself works great, but the display is damaged.  The problem is I work in a school and they will not replace the display.

I can use an external display with this machine, but it is distracting/difficult for the kids to use with the broken display.

I have directions on how to remove the top cover from the MacBook.  The question I have is, can I remove it and will it still operate with just the bottom half of the unit?
