Multiple users in my family log in to our main iMac at home.  Everyone has his or her iDevices that we like to sync.

The problem we see is that if I plug my iPad into the iMac while I'm logged in - I'm not guaranteed to see it show up in my iTunes.  Another account logged in (but switched out) has grabbed the iPad.

Currently, the solution is to log all other users out of the iMac whenever you want to sync your device.

There must be a better way, but my searches haven't turned up anything.

iPad, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
