i have this software installed on a 1st generation mac pro which i have Lion and a boot camp installation of windows 7.

i had to do some kind of procedure to get Boot Camp to accept windows 7 on this machine due to some EFI or firmware issue related to this particular version of the computer.

i have also installed rEFIT based upon a recommendation regarding some problems i was having booting and/or having the machine shut down.

does anyone know if this software is supposed to show up upon a pulldown menu RESTART or upon SHUTDOWN and then manual restart? it seems to sometimes show up and other times it seems to boot right into mac OS (Lion).

does anyone know if i can run a conventional OPTION boot while this software is installed?

i /do/ have a GTech 3TB external plugged into this computer and we /eventually/ found out it was causing some of the problems with the Option Boot prior to installing rEFIT. and i guess as i write this i am wondering if this issue with the GTECH drive (something to do with something i don't understand) is causing a problem with rEFIT as well.

anyway, i guess i will turn off this drive and see if i am still having problems but any insight would be great.

THANKS

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1), with 64 bit Win7 Boot Camp | iCloud
