Power Point went crazy. A "characters" window now appears every time I click the trackpad. I already uninstalled Office for Mac 2011, but it didn't help. I also deleted the NVRAM and PRAM. I don't know what to do next. What can I do next? It's affecting every single program.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're all users here.

Doesn't actually sound like a PowerPoint problem.

To me, it sounds like you've somehow activated the Character Viewer in , System Preferences, Personal, Language and Text.

The checkbox near the bottom of the screen to 'Show input menu in the menu bar'

is to display a 'flag' symbolScreen shot 2013-04-15 at 11.10.54 PM.pngfor the selected language in the upper menu bar.

Then, clicking on the flag opens a dialog window, including Show Keyboard Viewer and Show Character Viewer

and that reveals the Characters window.
