I'm having the same trouble with my Outlook Exchange email. It was working fine until a couple days ago. I had just updated apps on both my iPhone and iPad, so maybe it has something to do with that? My mac email is working fine, but Outlook is not.

I called Apple support,and I think my problem is fixed. My IT department installed a profile in Exchange ActiveSync, but I also had an Exchange account set up. Apple support had me delete the Exchange account-- no need for both. The deletion seems to have fixed my problem.

I have this problem too. Just started on my personal yahoo mail account on my ipad3. Stuck on "downloading 1 of 1". Can't use my IT dept because not my corporate mail (have to use Good -ick!)

I had the same issue. I am using an iphone 3gs ios 4.3.5. My problem was solved by installing a profile. Details given on this link:
Although the link talks about IOS 4.0, I tried it on my 4.3.5 3gs and it seems to be working since the last one hour!
