I'm running out of airspeed and ideas, too... I think we should consider your network and hardware. Is the PC using ethernet and your Mac wifi? Can you give us more detail about router model, switches, etc. Has this printer ever printed from a Mac at this location? What are the iMac's network pref settings? (I'll go back and read all the posts to see if you've already answered.)

both the PC and the mac are on the wireless....No.. my mac is the only one on location... This printer has printed from an iOS device with fingerprint through the PC.... No fingerprint did not work with the mac...  no I cant really tell you about the switches/router etc, their IT guy is offsite (like states away) and no one there knows any of the answers...

I dont know how it could be the network, when I can see the printer through the network itself.  Im pretty sure at this point that it is a setting on the printer itself...

I'm renting an office and it is supposed to come with printing capabilities..

Maybe I am wrong, but it looks like the Canon has an EFI controller.

Have you tried getting the drivers from EFI site?

You can also download Fiery Command Workstation 5 that is not a driver per se, but may help you understand if the problem is the printer (very unlikely) or the OS X Canon drivers.

Yes I do. It's what I was doing today so sorry about the lack of interaction.

Personally I would say it is not the printer but your Mac. The Windows computers in your office are printing fine to it, as shown by the print logs. So what we need to do is determine why you cannot print.

To make things easier I would like to setup a Webex connection to your Mac when I get into the office tomorrow morning (Friday morning for me - Thursday late afternoon or evening for you - depending on which side of the country you are).

If you are okay with me connecting to your Mac remotely then can reply to this posting with your email address. Please use the format of user_name at domain dot com

I will send you a meeting request when I get to the office

No, you are right. It is using the imagePASS-B1 (EFI / Fiery) controller which we have already established.

He mentions that he has the B1 driver. He has also tried using the Generic PS driver which always works fine to the Fiery.

This would be a total waste of time. His print jobs are not getting to the RIP so he's only going to see other users jobs, not his own. And he has shown that he can connect to the Fiery Webtools page (the internal web page of the controller) so CWS will not give him any more insight into the issue. If anything it will just cause confusion.

For future reference and for others offering help, the issue was with imagePASS-B1 after all, not the Mac as I suspected.

There is a setting in the imagePASS that can restrict users from printing. This is a controller setting rather than the Department ID management provided by the imageRUNNER copier. The setting appears under Users and Groups and is "Allow users to print without authentication".

For JayTay13, this was set to No. Changing it to Yes allowed him to print from the Mac.
