So I suppose nobody here has a solution either ? I just had yesterday my MBPR 13" swapped by Apple under warrany (just in case) as I complained about this issue, but after a restore from time machine, I still have the same issue, it is even worse !!!

I keep having issues with the WiFi signal, even with Bluetooth off and MTU set to 1453.

I will try a clean install of ML but I am not sure it will help either.

Same issue, brand new macbook pro retina 15 inch.

Seems to only exhibit the issue when connected to a secure network. Connection lasts anywhere from 1 min - 1 hour. Completely random.

Bluetooth toggling has no effect. Only redeme seems to be turing wifi off and back on.

I found something on another web site, worth trying...

    rename /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration folder to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration.backup

    shutdown the machine

while off, hold Shift-Control-Option-Power for 8 seconds then release

    Log on

It seems to work fine, I have been using my MBPR non stop since yesterday on two different WiFi networks with no issues so far, one network has good strength, the other is quite weak. Surrounding me are two other networks and various other WiFi devices, so not a clean environment.

I found the "fix" on www.markoncode.com, I don't know the quality of the source, but it was simply a backup, so I tried it... and to my surprise, it worked...

I have the same issue with wifi dropping out and the only solution being to turn it off and back on again. My machine is a 13in Retina Macbook Pro. Is my first Mac so a bit disappointing when expecting it to "just work" :-/

    Hi Big_Si,

I had the very same issue, but it works fine now. I just described what I did to make it work above.

    for me didnt' works.

    after reneming the

    HD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

folder, and reseting the SMC (Shift-Control-Option-Power for 8 seconds)

the os x restart but every app is hang, and the wifi says "no wifi device detecte"

can't open "ssystem preferences" neither. no app can be open.

This wifi bug is so so annoying

this didn't work for me...  i closed out all applications.. went to finder--->macintosh HD--->library---->preferences--->system configurations  and changed it to systemconfigurations.backup     held the control, option, shift, and power button for more than 8 seconds after i shutoff my mac, then relased it, it turned on   still having issues w/ my magic mouse dropping...     going back into the macintosh hd--->library--->preferences---> there's now a system configuration folder and a system configurations.backup folder.    does that make sense?  did i do anything wrong?   any feedback would be much appreciated... this drop issue has been haunting me since july!

    Hi Guys,

Have **JUST** bought a CTO MB Pro 13 " Retina with 3Ghz proc and 512GB Flash HDD, and Just tried this but there is NO SystemConfiguration folder (I am in the Library/preferences).

Having no success in connecting to multiple Billion Routers using WEP or WPA on known keys that work with other computers and my Ipad. The routers are also set to use B+G mode, but work with everything else!

C'mon Apple, get your act together!!

BTW - I CAN access my home network which is G only (not B+G) and WPA2. I already have BT turned off too. Very interesting, doesnt seem to support mixed mode wireless

It should also be noted that the channel your router is on the 2.4ghz band does not matter. The bluetooth hops and it will eventually interfere with the WiFi. This is also why the problem is intermittent.

I was truly hoping for a way to disable the 2.4Ghz radio on the card in the laptop. I'm not sure if that's possible these days (with older cards I believe they made them switchable). Though I'd love to know if it somehow is possible...

I am also stumped, unless I turn off BT then my Wifi suffers, however, I have just turned my BT Discoverable "off" and touch wood, BT (Mouse) & Wifi seem to have no intermittent Wifi, I shall update later...
