Not sure what problem is causing trouble with iTunes and the iTouch, but Apple says .m4v is fine.
Universal, high quality, small file size is the holy grail of the video industry, and there are lots of innovations in that field.
Sadly, although Apple says it will work, it doesnt.
I have iTunes 11.0.1.
I can add slideshow movies made in iPhoto into iTunes as .M4V.
They play in iTunes.
They "tick" as OK to copy over to the ipod Touch.
But they are not there......
There is an irony here. I bought a dirt cheap Samsung Galaxy tablet. It took me 30 seconds to copy the movies over and play them. After over a week of struggling with iTunes and stupid formats, I still cant get it to play on an iTouch.....
Getting close to goodbye Appe......
Perhaps check over in the iPod/iTunes forums -- they may be able to diagnois the problem. Do you have enough memory for the slideshow? Are you looking in the movie/video section of the iPod? Could the slideshow be too tall and wide (this is measured in pixels, and 640x480 pixels looks to be the largest)?
I dont know about memmory or video size.
What I can say is thas. A dirt cheap bottom of the range Samsung Galaxy tablet plays them no problem.
But Apple to Apple simply doesnt work.
Sorry Apple. You are useless.
