Mail: blue ? box in Mail, but not in iCloud

I use gmail for work.  My signature block has a jpg of my company logo.


When I send an email to my personal account (xxx.mac), the following happens.  When the email arrvies in Mail, the logo turns into a blue box with a questionmark.  However, when I go to and view the same email there, the logo appears.


I am concerned (because I have been told this is the case) that clients are getting the blue box, not the logo.


Is there any way to ensure the logo makes its way to recipients' desktops?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
