Q: What is the rotating multicolored small icon mean?

My Mac iTunes stopped being able to play to my Apple TV for some reason. Apple TV shows all the menus, songs etc. but nothing works anymore. using iTUNES 11.2 . Also AIRPLAY does not work either. Every thing seems to work ok on the Mac iTunes (plays normally) . But on the AIRPLAY failing, I often get this rotating multicolored ball icon taking the place of my mouse pointer. I have rebooted my WiFI, computer and the Apple TV to no avail. However, itunes home sharing and airplay using my ASUS laptop both still work fine with Apple TV. It is only my new Mac Pro that has stopped for some reason.

Ah, the "Beach Ball of Death". You must be new to all things Mac.

Try Quitting all your programs, launch Disk Utilty and repair permissions.

Nope, lots of permissions were changed but still exactly the same problem. works fine on my Mac, just won;t work with Apple TV. Wow, what a shock, I bought an Apple because of their ability to work together, NOT.

I'm not too hip on AppleTV. Maybe you should post your question over in that forum to get an answer. Since the title of the post only mentions the multicolored icon and not AppleTV, you may not be getting those brains to answer.
