It's that time of year again -- Spring Training.  Does anyone know when Apple TV will update the MLB.TV app. to make it compatible to this year's MLB.TV programming?  Apparently, on MLB's part, there are a few changes on their end regarding transmission of content to providers, and this has made last year's app to be non-compatible.  Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Good question. The spring training games are showing up on my Roku but not my Apple TV. I restarted the ATV but there was no change. Anyone getting them working yet?

This isn't working because Apple hasn't released an Apple TV update. They're behind the game here, as paying MLB.tv customers pay for Spring Training games as well. The problem with Apple TV is that it's outdated compared to the iOS on iDevices and individual "app" updates can't be applied without a full OS upgrade. My guess is they are holding out on this until that can bundle the update with other features so it doesn't tick off Apple TV users with multiple updates. I'm not happy about it though. The workaround is to use the At Bat app and send to the Apple TV via AirPlay.

I noticed yesterday that everything seemed to be working fine. All the games were listed. I didn't test them to make sure they would actually play, but I'm assuming they would. Hopefully everybody else is seeing the same thing now.

I hate stepping into another thread, but you all seem to be MLB.tv experts. I'm a bit confused by the local blackout provisions. I live in Los Angeles, so am I to presume I cannot watch any home or away game for the Dodgers and Angels? I love baseball a lot, but I'm not getting this to watch the Twins play the Royals or something. I want all the cool features with my Dodgers (and occasionally Angels) games.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to watch the Angels or Dodgers live (home or away) on MLB.tv, but you will be able to see the games on a delayed basis about an hour after they end.

    BTW...GO GIANTS! ;-)

Yeah, that's not going to happen.

But thanks for the info. That makes it a non-starter for me, since the cool online and Apple TV features will be missing. I suppose the NHL version has the same annoying blackouts.

Having a similar issue - I live in Oregon, and for some reason the MLB app is blocking access to all of my Oakland Athletics games.  It's like it thinks I'm in the bay area.?  I've never been able to watch Mariners games, and understand that, but this is the first time I've had issues with other Oakland games, and I'm a long time customer across the PC, iPad, iPhone...  All of those other devices are able to correctly infer my actual location.

Tried resetting my "location" in the AppleTV settings to Portland, but didn't make a difference.

    Thoughts?

I'm having the same problems as anaro222.  I live in Oregon and mlb.tv on my AppleTV is blacking out both the Oakland As and SF Giants games, as well as the Mariners.  The MLB At Bat app on my iPad, though, does not blackout the As and Giants games.  It *****, because I'm a fan of both teams and would like to watch those games on my TV.

The other interesting point is that the app works fine on my 360.  Really odd that the Apple TV can't accurately determine my location since they're normally really good with that task.

    Go A's!!

I would contact MLB about the issue. I'm sure they will. I used to live bicoastal, and wanted my Dodgers when I was in Upstate NY, but they thought I was in Los Angeles (where I live most of the time). They fixed it for me.
