I have noticed lately (within the past 6 months or so), that I am not able to play wmv files on my computer, nor am I able to view/listen to whatever the media standard is for media files on Wikipedia (if I want to view either of these, I have to load another browser, like Firefox or Chrome, which seems to do them right out of the box).  I don't know if it's a recent update or what, but I know I used to be able to do both these things in Safari.

I have downloaded VLC, Flip4Mac, Silverlight, all of these, and none of them are getting the desired results (WMV files used to just not display anything, now after installing Flip4Mac it jsut freezes on a still of the first frame; with Wikipedia files nothing works, sounds don't play (but the counter on the sound file still progresses incrementally).

Any help is appreciated
