Q: Question about purchases

I bought an iTunes gift card, and it shows that I have $40 in credits, but when I try to purchase something it keeps saying my purchase cannot be completed. Anyone know why?

iPad, iOS 6.1.3

If the message is also saying to contact iTunes support then you can do so via this page and ask them why it's appearing (we won't know why) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
