    HI,

So when you drag a pic to the Video chat are getting the dotted lines for Share and Send?

    Which are you choosing ?

Send sends the file without displaying in the Video chat.

If a Text Chat is open it may be displayed there.

The Share option should replace the current camera feed with the current pic you have chosen.

The window does display a black background and moves the current Buddy video to the lower left and the Shared item gets a slightly right shifted view, as in this pic.

Do you get the Buddy to shift to lower left ?

And then the space on the right is blank ?

What format is the pic in ?

Anything that can be opened by Preview should be OK

However I have also "Displayed" Photoshop .psd files with no issue.

    Hi,

This is now one of those awkward items that becomes difficult to provide a precise "Fix" for.

If the Pic can be opened in other graphic apps like Preview then we have to presume the file is not corrupt.

The same can be said for the iChat Video.

I would start by trying a PRAM reset.

    Shut down the computer.

Restart it holding down Apple/CMD ( or ⌘)+ALT( ⌥)+P+R Keys until you have heard three Start Up Bongs.

If that does not appear to work then navigate to your Home Folder/Library/Preferences and drag the com.apple.ichat.plist to the Trash

    Restart iChat.

This will change any setting in iChat Menu > Preferences  that is not the default setting.

Such as all the sounds you have set to the Alerts.

Any Font choices you have made.

Any Colours to Text and Balloons.

    Incoming Overrides.

Whether chats are Saved at all.

This .plist does hold some camera info which is why I am suggesting deleting it.

If this has not worked then it might pay to reinstall the App.

Versions 3 through 5 can use these Instructions
