May 20, 2012 9:01 AM in response to Swartzcherylby TigerTitan,I'm having the same problem. I have two other apple IDs (email addresses) used by my children on my iPad that the iTunes Store defaults to, instead of mine. I have tried in vain to log them out, but it clearly shows My Apple ID is logged in! When I select to install an app, it defaults to my kids' IDs and asking for their passwords, which I do not know. (They don't live with me.) thus, I cannot install any updates via my iPad. I have no problem updating with my Mac desktop, at all. Will be watching this thread for any answers! Would rather not have to change to a new email/user ID like above person has had to do.

May 21, 2012 10:20 PM in response to Swartzcherylby Kh232,I have a similar problem with apps that are connected to a non-accessible apple id account (I made changes to my account details in order to remove my personal information from this ipad's unauthorized creation of an iCloud account).
Now, my apps are connected to the old id and cannot be updated because I no longer know the original password.
All reset attempts are sent to a fictitious email account or hidden behind a fictitious birthdate I used to delete my real info.
TigerTitan: have you logged yourself into the app store via the settings menu? It worked for me to load new apps but I cannot update the others I bought as they " belong to the the original apple id"
It ***** that I can make a purchase, hold the product in my hand AND the receipt fr the purchase yet cannot prove that the product is mine.
Not the type of world I want to live in.

Jun 8, 2012 2:55 PM in response to Swartzcherylby jhawk1109,I also have a problem with my Apple ID. I had an old email ID that I closed, so I changed my ID on Apple support & on Itunes. I cannot get my iPhone4S or my iPad2 to update to the new email ID. I synched them both, I restarted them numerous times, but no good. The worst part is, I had the account with Apple under my old email, now it's GONE! I had to start a new account..What the ****??? I'm stuck with an iPhone & an iPad that I can't update my apps on !!!!!
Apple, you seem to have the WORST system for change I have ever seen !!
How about some help Apple??
I know I can't get an answer directly because you will charge me..Yet your system is not working......

Jun 9, 2012 11:40 AM in response to Kh232by TigerTitan,Well, strange as it may seem, I no longer have the problem I wrote about above. I have NO IDEA why the default apple IDs of my kids no longer show up.
I recall that I completely shut down my iPad for a change, which is something I rarely do. Then rebooted it. And did it again a couple more times. Maybe that helped my iPad reset to my my ID. I don't know. Maybe doing that will help reset and clear your old email (ID) and let you log in. Try logging in on a PC FIRST... and then shut down your iPad all together. Then go to the app store on it and see if that doesn't shake something loose. Good luck.

Jun 9, 2012 11:47 AM in response to TigerTitanby PaulJacobCruz,This is a common mistake of most users when creating Apple ID's which causes multiple accounts to be created and purchases being made between and the fact that accounts cannot be merged, you will need to contact iTunes Store support to get more details.
On a side note, you will need to log out your Apple ID on your device so that you can log in again using the correct account.

Apr 23, 2013 12:46 PM in response to Kh232by cav84,This sound like the same problem I'm having. I can access the app store, but my sign in apple id needs to be corrected and the computer won't let me. I plan to take my computer to the genius bar at the local apple store. If I get an answer I'll pass it on.

Nov 24, 2013 5:53 AM in response to Swartzcherylby earlybird1234,I have the same problem but what you can do is you can try and go to "Manage my Apple ID" and after you click on it you have to sign in and it will let you alter your Apple ID information. That is at least the answer I got from my discussion.
