I have late 2008 Macbook 5,1 with intel core 2 duo processor. My ram is 2GB 1067 MHz DDR3. I run Mac OS X version 10.6.8. I don't want to upgrade to mountain lion because of all the problems I heard about it

I really do not know too much about ram and other computer hardware stuff and would like to upgrade my ram. I want to get the newest version of Logic Pro to make my own music and feel my cpu doesn't have the memory to run the program well. I went to the apple store and the guy said that the max that is recommended on my model is a total of 4GB of ram with two 2GB DDR3 chips. I don't know if that will be enough to run logic on my CPU. I would like to upgrade to more if possible. Also, getting a new laptop with a new processor is not in the cards right now.

-Does anyone know what the max ram I could use on my macbook?

-What type of ram cards should I get?

Again, I want the maximum ram that my computer will run fine on. Also, my computer has never had any problems and still runs quite well.

thank you!!
