I have been running a Mac Mini OS X Server 10.6.8 for several years.  Recently my wiki pages are no longer accessbile from the internet, I can get them to load on the actualy server, but not from a remote computer.  All of the regular websites that are hosted on the server can be reached, but any time I try to connect to a wiki page the server never responds to the request and I eventually get a timeout error

Anyone have any idea how to go about fixing this?  It has been working for years.  The only thing I can think that has been done to the server recently was a Java update.

Anything interesting and relevant in the console logs?  (Viewed via Console.app or otherwise?)

I dont see anything interesting... but that may be why I am unable to figure out what the problem is...

I have pasted some of the logs below, as for a refrence you can goto these pages to see what I am dealing with...

Here is a website hosted on the server: http://gametheroylabs.com

    Here is its wiki: http://wiki.gametheorylabs.com

Something odd did happen while testing, I turned off the wiki for the page and got an error page that had a link to the Apache manual... I went to that without issue, I turned the wiki back on and when I use the back arrow on the browser, the landing page for the wiki showed up, but from that point on it timed out when trying to select any other wiki pages, or even trying to reload the wiki

I dont know if this is related or helpful, but my VPN has stoped working as well.  I can see my devices connect and authenticate in the VPN logs on the server, but internet traffic times out on the remote devices when connected.  I bascially get the sort of response on accessing a website over the VPN as I do when I try to directly access a wiki site over the internet.

I do not see any errors listed in any of the logs... not trying to cross post, but thought maybe this could help identify what is happening with the Wiki pages too.

I have been looking around trying to find a solution to this issue and I came across this post which dicusses the error logs for the wiki, which are located at

    /Library/Logs/wikid

I went to this location and found hundreads of logs (as well as an access log over 1GB...?)

I uploaded the latest error log file here, (gametheorylabs.com/error.log)

The latest error that looked "interesting" seems to be python related, or that is at least a guess.  I copied that section below for quick refrence.  Any help pointing me in a direction that could get the wiki server accessible over the internet would be greatly appreciated.

I also have already checked file permission on the colloaboration and webserver/documents folder and they do have read permissions

    Something is clearly corrupted.

Check the Apache server logs, while you're looking around.

I'd try a reboot of the server, but that's strictly a guess.

    Thank you for your help!

I have tried rebooting the server a few times, even crossed fingers and knoced on wood, but no avail....

As for the Apached server logs, I do see the error and access logs, but I have an issue with viewing them...

The error log is over 3.5GB and access log is 1.5GB (that in itself probably shows I have an issue).

How should I go about actually looking at error log? I can not open a 3.5GB file using my normal methods...

I'd probably just create a new Apache error log (rename the file, etc) and wait a few minutes for the chatter to be recorded, but the tail command can be used see the last part of the existing log file.  The command  tail -n1000 filespec shows the last thousand lines in the specified file.

I am not sure if file size is an issue, but when I renamed the files and restarted Apache Server and the new access and error files were created, access to the Wiki returned.

So in short, it is working now!

Thanks for the help Mr. Hoffman.
