I've had this problem on and off for months. I read all the posts on here and thought that Apple had fixed it - seems like I was wrong - but I'm not entirely sure as to where the problem lies because when I'm at home where I don't have internet, my pictures won't send - the bar goes two thirds of the way along and then sticks until eventually it gives me the red warning saying that it couldn't send. I've tried so many repeat sends and in the end, give up. When I get in to the office in the morning - I try sending again (using my wifi) and it goes almost instantly.

I've noticed that other internet usage is not all that consistent either when using cellular. I have spoken to Virgin about it but they are less than useless - they seem not to understand what the problem is and tell you a lot of false things to try and kid you on that they are trying to help but, apart from the fact they know nothing about the iPhone, they can't offer any explanation as to why things work perfectly using wifi but hardly work at all using cellular. Virgin have just today increased my internet usage price from 50p a day for 25MB (which was WAY more than I could ever use with cellular) to £1 per day for 100MB lol at the current rate of data exchange on cellular that's £1 wasted.

Anybody else noticed a difference between cellular and wifi?

I got mine to work.  I turned off my phone for 20 minutes, turned it back on, checked my settings in iMessage. iMessage asked me to enter my phone number (It wasn't there for some reason,), I did and a few minutes later the photos I texted to my gmail account showed up.

    I hope it stays fixed.

Add me to this list.  iphone 4S on5.1.1. Never a problem until two days ago.  Cannt send/receive pics from iMessage when on home wifi.  No changes were made on iPhone or home wifi when this started.  Can send pics thru imessage while connected thru Sprint 3G but home wifi no go. Tried all the tricks listed here also reset Fios modem, nothing helps.

Pics just started working with my home wifi as mysteriously as it quit 5 days ago.

Just for the record I had tried every fix in this thread and some from other forums,

and a couple of my own such as turning off the router firewall and turning off wireless

security on the router as well. Nothing helped.   Out of the blue I tried sending a pic to myself this

morning and it worked, then sent some back and forth with a friend with no issues.  Hope that never happens again.

I had the same issue. Call ATT for help (since my ipad is on my plan).  They had me to into settings>messages and turn off then on the IMessage button.  Then do a hard reboot by holding both the home and start keys for 15 seconds.  When it came back on it was fixed.

I am now once again IMessaging Images.  Woo Hoo!

Had my customer disable her wifi and send a test photo message to herself. That seemed to do the trick. So her wifi was the issue. Hope this helps someone

My problem with this appears to be that my iphone chooses a wrong imessage address and starts a conversation with an unreachable device. There is a conversation with the photos I try to send all going nowhere. If I cut and paste those into a conversation thread that works, the photos send. So after I tried sending to me over wifi, it worked. I suspect the problem will go away when the receiver only has one imessage address as I have. Not sure how to make this refresh but hoping it will go away eventually after the receivers have one imessage address.

Same problem. When send pictures or a picture text combo in iMessage it says not sent.

And doesn't it suck that this site is not mobile enabled?
