    An iPhone 3GS can be updgraded to the most current IOS, so any apps available on the App Store are compatible with it.

     

    I think I get the gist of the body of your post, but not sure what it is you want to do? Why is is that you would want to connect to your friend's laptop?

     

    Need more info here....
