Apr 26, 2013 2:24 PM in response to TomLeicesterby mende1,★HelpfulYou have all the specifications about the Mid 2012 Mac Pro memory in this page > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4433#1 As you can see, that memory isn't compatible with the Mid 2012 Mac Pro.
To make sure you get the correct memory for your computer, I recommend you to buy the memory in OWC or Crucial > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Mac-Pro-Memory#1333-memory Note that the Mid 2012 Mac Pro requires PC3-10600 memory

Apr 26, 2013 2:32 PM in response to mende1by TomLeicester,Do you know of anywhere in the UK that will sell this product or similar? or a search chriteria that i could use to find some ram?
On the support link you linked to me there is a note section (Although the memory speed of the UDIMMS is 1333 MHz, they will operate at 1066 MHz or1333 MHz depending on the processor in the computer.) does this mean that 1333Mhz ram will be compatible with my Mac?

Apr 26, 2013 2:36 PM in response to TomLeicesterby mende1,1333 MHz RAM is compatible wih your computer. We recommend OWC and Crucial, but there are other sites which may sell memory compatible with Macs. Macs are a bit special with memory, so if you install memory from a brand which OS X “doesn't like”, the computer won't start

with the move to DDR3 ECC you are much safer. Even FBDIMMs for older Mac Pro today are better and easy to pick up and don't require the large "special" heatsinks of old.
Mixing even with "Mac Pro compatible DDR3" though was and is more of an issue when it came to 8GB DIMMs or mixing was special but even that is less so now. But if you buy a full set, just make sure the seller will fully refund or replace with proper DIMMs.
Use the Crucial site, use their memory selector. Though Crucial will have different part number and code for off-site it is a good way to insure what you want.
That ebay Crucial though is Registered DIMMs but not ECC - it can work w/o but most people buying 24GB want ECC.
it may start. Even with 'wrong' setup and you will get the Memory Utility.
He's in the UK and most do not want to deal with an American vendor, VAT and shipping and distance.

This is the highest memory they have wich is compatible with my computer.
this means i will only be able to install 16 gb max when i may need to increase to 32 in the future?
Is there any sites wich have 1333Mhz ram that will be in 8GB dimms that you know of?
Thanks
Tom

Apr 26, 2013 3:19 PM in response to TomLeicesterby The hatter,Crucial never seem to have higher density, do they, let alone 16GB DIMMs (3x16GB does work).
OWC cost for shipping and VAT
