When I plugged in a month or so ago, I was asked if I wanted to import the photos from my iphone to my computer but that does not occur any longer.  How do I move them to my computer from my iphone 5?

Also tried to "Enable the Behavior" but could not find "Hardware and Sound" in Control Panel for Windows 7 PC.

NO....  following is what is NOT happening and my question:  WHY NOT????

To import photos or video from your device to Windows:

    1. Connect your iOS device to the computer. If the AutoPlay window appears, click "Import Pictures and Videos using Windows", then skip to step 4. If the "Import Pictures and Video" dialog appears, skip to step 4.
Note: If the AutoPlay dialog box does not automatically open, you may need to enable the behavior.

    2. Choose Start > Computer.
    3. Right-click the logo for your device and click Import pictures and videos.
    4. Click the Import Settings link.
    5. In the resulting window, you can change the folder to which your Camera Roll's photos will be imported by clicking the Browse button next to the "Import to" field. By default, these will be imported to the My Pictures folder.
    6. Enable the option, "Always erase from device after copying".
Note: Deleting photos after importing helps to reduce Camera Roll size, and it improves backup and restore times. You may choose Keep Photos if you wish to import the photos to additional computers. If you do not want Windows to delete pictures from your camera on subsequent imports, remember to come back here and disable this option when you're finished.
    7. After setting your import options, click OK to dismiss the window.
    8. Choose a tag if desired and click Import. This screen appears only while the import process is active:

    9. Once the import is complete, Windows Photo Gallery will launch with your photos and videos highlighted under the "Recently Imported" section:

None of the photos that you tried to post are showing up. When you connect the phone, the only time the import program will appear in AutoPlay is if there are new photos in the Camera Roll that have not been imported to the phone already.

Which part are you having trouble with, locating AutoPlay settings? I can try and help if I get a better description of what is happening versus repeating what the support document tells you to do.

The AutoPlay does not work anymore and yes, it would be helpful if you can tell me how to reinstate that function.  Thanks.

One of the first things that you can do to ensure that you do not lose the photos on the iPhone is to connect the phone to the computer and open "Computer". Locate the iPhone in the list of devices and right-click on it. Choose "Import photos" from there. That will start the Import program and you can import the photos to the computer.

After that, open Control Panel. If you cannot find the heading Hardware and Sound, then it is possible that you have the Control Panel view set to Icons instead of categories. If you have it set on Icons, you can locate Autoplay right there, as the icons are listed in alphabetical order. If you have it in Category view, Hardware and Sound should be one of the categories. Either way, if in Categories, select Hardware and Sound and select Autoplay. If in Icons, just select Autoplay.

This will provide you with a view of what types of media and/or devices are listed on the computer. There is a checkbox for Use Autoplay for all media and devices. Make sure that is checked. After that, scroll down and you should find a heading for Devices. Under that, you should locate your iPhone. Move over to the right and you will see the scroll box for selecting what to do when you plug in this device. Click on the arrow to the right side of the selection and if you want it to where it will popup and ask you what to do, then set it to "Ask me every time" and whenever you plug the phone in and it has photos in the Camera Roll, the computer should create a popup for you and you can choose what to do. Import photos using Windows should be one of the selections.

Under AutoPlay, my phone was already set to "Ask me Every Time", so went to Devices and this is what I got:

Where else can I look as my phone is plugged in and no AutoPlay showed up????

Well, from the looks of your Device Manager, nothing shows being wrong anywhere. Are there photos in the Camera Roll? You can delete the device in Auto Play and reboot the computer. After that, connect the phone again and see if that prompts it to show up. The only other thing you can do is to replace the iPhone USB driver, but it is not showing a problem, so I wouldn't try that for now.
