I'm running the latest version of iTunes 11.0.1.12 on my Windows 7 PC.

It's really difficult to explain so I'm going to try my hardest to explain this as well as I can. Yesterday I decided I'd re-arrange my Lana Del Rey albums, I've never had any problems before prior to yesterday. I began sorting out the live performances, then all of a sudden, it grouped all 245 Lana songs onto one album. Now, I was incredibly annoyed so I asked somebody online what was going on, they said to put it all under 'unknown artist' so I did that and organised some albums. But today it's gone and done exactly the same thing, and then (this is the worst part of all) it literally deleted every single Lana song I own. I'm seriously annoyed by this, and I don't know what to do. Sorry if I've not explained myself very well but help ASAP would be appreciated, I just want all of my songs back!

With luck if you go into the Songs view and sort on Date Modified you will find the tracks are there, but just need information correcting. Ocassionaly when merging artists & albums iTunes gets its lists confused. Closing & reopening iTunes will normally fix that and should be tried in preference to deleberately renaming things as Unknown Artist or Unknown Album.

For tips on getting organized in iTunes see Grouping tracks into albums.

Before embarking on any major changes to your library you should backup, that way you can recover from any accidental damage.
