I want tomove clips to a new event, so I create the new event then select the source event, select the clips in the source event and drag them to the target event and final cut pro X crashes ! Finder indicates that the files have been moved to the new event folder but when I start FCP and visit the source event the clips are still there (red indicated that media is missing). I delete these disconnected clips and then all is well.

This is a real pain as FCP crashes ever time and I want to re-organize my events !

Anyone else experienced this or have any advice on how to avoid?

Thanks

I am having the exact same problem.  I have completely removed FCP per the online instructions (deleting pref., etc...), ran the extended diagnostics on my hardware, and still can't figure out why it's doing this.  Is yours still giving you this trouble?  I am running FCP 10.0.8 on a 15" MBP Retina on OS 10.8.3 with my projects on an external FW800 HDD.

Anyone's help with this issue would be greatly appreciated!
