I have an app Shop Kick and for some reason today the location services on the app will not shutoff (I have the location arrow on the top right and when I go to settings location servies the arrow is purple next to shop kick app).  I have had this app now for 2 years and the location service has never continued to run on the app.  I tried doing to double home screen tap and killed the app but it according to my phone it's still using location service even after I killed the app.  I then tried to turn off/on my phone but still even after powering on/off it's still claiming to use location service.  What's going on?

Try resetting your phone: Press the Sleep/wake button & Home button at the dsame time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

I am having the same issue.  I tried the hard reset, powering off and back on but, it persists.  the only way to turn it off, is to shut off location services for the app when not using it (which is a pain)

Hi there I was having the same issues myself an I know it can be a pain because its a real battery drainer. The tip I have that worked for me is I went to location services and one by one I turned off each individual apps location service until the arrow went off so I was able to quickly find the app that was causing the issues (allow about 5 or so seconds between each app after you turn if off) after you find the bad app you can go into that apps settings to try to fix it. Or for me the app never stopped searching my location even with the app fully closed. ( so I deleted the app ) I hope this tip helps out

Go to the shopkick app settings and turn off "notifications near stores"
