To move your iPhoto photos to Aperture, read > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5296 You just have to merge the iPhoto library once, because you only have one iPhoto library
note that, if you are using iPhoto '11 and Aperture 3 updated to the most recent version, they use the same library. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5260

I understand that they are shared but I have run DaisyDisk and it says that my iPhoto library is using 59.7GB but my Aperture Library is using 42.7GB. Just confused as to how thats possible if they're shared
